The Beacon is Dallastown Area High School's student run newspaper. Its content is the responsibility of the student staff and is not subject to direct administrative approval. The newspaper, which is designed as an open forum, serves to inform and entertain its readers as well as train students interested in journalism. The Beacon is produced by the Print Journalism class at Dallastown, which is an elective course for juniors and seniors. However, any Dallastown students are encouraged to submit articles, pictures, and letters to the staff. The Beacon produces nine issues per year plus a special Senior issue in June. The issues are distributed to the student body free of charge each month. Questions may be directed to Miss Angie Gable, Beacon advisor, in room 305 of the high school. |
