Hello. My name is Mr. Gillis and I am the mathematics teacher on the Excel team. This is my eleventh year teaching seventh grade here at the Dallastown Middle School. Many years ago in the town of Grantham, Pa, I attended Messiah College where I earned my teaching degree but more importantly met and later married my wife. We have twin siblings one boy and one girl who turned three years old this past spring. When I’m not teaching in the classroom there are several interests I enjoy being a part of. You could find me, coaching pole vaulters on the varsity track and field team or playing ping pong or cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles or completing some kind of exercise work-out like running, lifting, etc. I am looking forward to great school year together.
Hello. My name is Mrs. Bittner and I am the language arts teacher on the Excel team. In high school I was in band and orchestra, playing the flute and piccolo. I earned both my bachelor's and master's degrees from Millersville University, taught English as a Second Language in York City School district, got married, and then stayed home for about 10 years to have three kids, Kat (sophomore in college), Meg (senior in high school), and Adam (freshman in high school). My husband Brent and I have been married for 21 years. Our kids are all involved in sports: lacrosse, volleyball, and football. We also have a sweet black lab named Molly. I returned to teaching in 2002 at Red Lion Junior High and have been teaching seventh grade language arts at Dallastown since 2006. Go Steelers!!
