The teachers of team Knowledge, Inc. place a high emphasis on completing assignments. They help students practice a given skill or concept, helps students be more prepared for class discussions and lectures, and teaches students responsibility. Assignments not completed on time will result in a loss of points; however, all assignments are expected to be turned in regardless of grade. When a student is absent from school fewer than three days, assignments may be obtained from a classmate. On the third day of absence, parents may telephone the guidance office before 8:00 AM for assignments to be picked up after 3:00 PM that same day. Parents may pick up assignments in the main office. Students will have the same number of days that they were absent to complete make-up work.
ASSIGNMENT COMPLETION POLICY:
We expect assignments to be completed when assigned. When they are not completed, the following consequences will apply:
1. Homework assignments that are not completed and turned in on the due date can be completed for a maximum of 50% if turned in by the next day. If the assignment is not completed in that time period, the student will receive a zero. A citizenship point (See #4 below) will also be deducted for being unprepared for class.
2. Long term projects that are not turned in will result in a ten percent reduction in grade for each day past the due date. A citizenship point (See #4 below) will also be deducted for being unprepared for class.
3. This same policy will apply to all absent work not completed within the time requirements set forth in the student handbook.
4. As a team, we will keep track of the number of assignments students do not complete by using our citizenship logs. Parents of students who have missed three assignments in a given class will receive notification from the teacher.
