The 30th Annual
York County Science and Engineering Fair
 
 
On March 7th at the awards program for the York County Science and Engineering Fair,
Dallastown students earned 28 first place awards and 25 special awards. 
Our students also earned three of the fair's top awards:

Nicole Daniell earned the Senior High Division Reserve Grand Champion award with her project entitled “Determining the Effect of Zingiber officinale”.  Nicole will be representing Dallastown at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix, Arizona, later this spring.

 Katelyn Salotto earned the Junior High Division Grand Champion award by exploring
“Polyphenol Levels in Various Teas Using 
Spectrophotometry.” 
 
Alexander Kim earned the Junior High Division Reserve Grand Champion award with his project entitled “The Effect of Different LED Wavelengths on the Human Naked Eye.”

 DASD students represented 35% of the YCSEF entrants this year.  Our students earned 41% of the 1st place awards,  35% of the 2nd place awards, 26% of the 3rd place awards, and 11% of the honorable mentions.

 On behalf of our YCSEF winners, Dr. Fauth wants to thank ALL of the DAHS faculty for their contributions to the success of our students.  The students’ written projects, oral interviews, practical presentations, and pursuit of excellence all reflect an exceptional, well-rounded education that helped put these students on the stage.
