My name is Denise Blackwell and I am excited to be a part of
this Middle School Family! This is my first year in the school district
and I am loving it! While I may be new to Dallastown, I am not new to
education. I began my career in The School District of the City of York
in 1998 and have served as a Dean of Students, Assistant Principal and
Principal. I am excited for this new chapter in my life.
While new to the District, I am not new to York. I was
born and raised in York, PA and a graduate of Central York High School. I
have degrees from Penn State University as well as Shippensburg University.
The middle school years are so important for our children.
While academics are the focus, there are so many other factors that must be
taken care of in order for our children to grow. With the stressors of
today; peers, social media, academics etc. I feel strongly that we HAVE to take
care of the WHOLE CHILD! Our children need us to be the strong role
models in their lives in and outside of school. I believe our partnership
with parents and the community with our children being the main focus.
This will help mold them into strong individuals with good character.
When I am not working, I enjoy family time. When I married
my husband William, I inherited two amazing young men. Ryan and Dylan have
taught me a lot about the middle school age! Then we have our Thomas. He
is four and loves firetrucks. We enjoy family time and you will see us at
many community events.
I am excited to work with your child and build a partnership with you. This is an amazing staff here at Dallastown Area Middle School and they are dedicated to our children!
