IST
Instructional Support Team
At Dallastown Area Middle School the Instructional Support Team is comprised of the Instructional Support Teacher, Barbara Terroso, the student's administrator, the student's counselor, the student's team teachers, and others who my contribute to the success of the team and ultimately the student.
The purpose of the IST process is to help students who may be having some difficulty academically, emotionally, or behaviorally. A referral can be made by a parent, administrator, counselor, or teacher. After the referral has been made, data is collected, goals are established, interventions are implemented, and progress of goals is monitored. At the end of the intervention period, the team reconvenes and determines what further action is needed, if any.
