ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

With our team's victory against Red Lion last friday evening, they have quailified to enter the PIAA district playoffs.  The marching band will accompany the team to the game at Wilson High School in West Lawn, Pa. near Reading.  The game is scheduled for a 7 pm start.  Our schedule for Friday will look something like this...

Students should plan to bring their marching uniforms with them to school on Friday, Nov 9th.  The uniforms may be hung in the band room when the students come to school that morning.

The full marching unit will rehearse directly after school in the stadium at 3 pm.  We will run through the show and review what will be needed for that evening's performance.

At 3:40, a pizza party/ meal will be given to the full unit.  When we are done eating we will load the buses and depart for Wilson.  I am planning to pull out around 4:15.  The estimated travel time is 1 hour and 45 minutes.  This will put us there at 6 pm.

The game begins at 7pm, we are performing at Half time.

Our arrival time home should be around 10:45 to 11 pm.

There will no Thursday evening rehearsal; however, the after school practice will be greatly needed.  This is why we will bring in the uniforms and stay directly after school, (If students traveled home on the bus after school, they would be just getting home to no sooner turn around and try and get back, if they would even be back before the busses had to pull out).   I do relaize this is an added performance; however, everyone has been told of this possibility for several weeks.  If there is any reason why a student can not attend, I will need to know ASAP in writing.  I would hope we can do the field show; however, if there are too many holes, we may have to do a stand still performace.  This is another reason for the Friday after school practice.  It should be stressed that the number of students participating will likewsie effect our travel costs and meal costs for this event.  If there are any conflicts I need to know as soon as possible. Thank you.

Tuesday, December 11th

Due to the lost rehearsal time caused by the extended testing time needed for the KEYSTONE EXAMS, it will be necessary for us to add some additional rehearsal time to our schedule this week prior to our concert.  On Tuesday, December 11th, our band class has been moved to the 8th period time slot to accomodate the KEYSTONES; this adjusted period runs from 2:18 TO 2:50.  As a full emsenble, I would like to extend this time on the stage to 3:30 pm.  Please plan accordingly to make this work.  I do realize there may be some conflicts that can not be re-arranged...I will accept that, please just let me know.  Students with transportation issues may use the first run of the late buses that day.  I will provide passes for those who need this.  Students who are athletes, please talk to coaches to see if you can arrive a little later that day to your practice.  I will be sending an email to your coaches explaining this situation.  We have all worked very hard to learn this music.  Our regular school schedule has been greatly altered.  Please let's go this extra distance to finalize and clean our selections for our Sunday program!  Thank you for your support.
