America (FBLA) competed in more than 35 events during the Annual FBLA Regional
Leadership Conference held at Central Penn College.

school freshmen Donovan Trauger, Emily White, and Yael Eiben were finalists in

Student Television Network (STN) Honor Society Inductees among 60 students
Dallastown Troupe of the International Thespian Society (ITS) inducted 12 new
members in 2015. Additionally, five members were promoted from Thespian to Honor

annual Poetry Out Loud (POL)
recitation contest was co-hosted by the Dallastown Area High School
English Department and Performing Arts Club. Contestants who have
mastered poems compiled in advance by the POL organization presented them in
front of judges resulting in senior Derricka Gordon, in third place, sophomore
Lennon Shirey in second place, and senior Kali Nyland in first place. These
students earn awards and the champion advances to regional competition in
The Dallastown Area High School's International Thespian Society Troupe #7973 held its 3rd annual induction ceremony welcoming 2 seniors, 2 juniors, 6 sophomores, and 1 freshman into the honorary theater society. The new inductees join 13 returning members.
At the Regional National History Day held in March,
D.A.M.S. 7th grader, Ramanathan Thillaiyan took home third place
honors and will represent D.A.S.D. at the PA State National History Day.
The following eleven middle schoolers were selected to
the York County Middle School Honors Band. Haley Shuck, Taylor Edwards,
Alexis Esher, Grace Treml, Brittany Loken, Lora Norwalk, Emily Dias, Jillian
Fetrow, Aryan Saharan, David Willis, and Nick Miller.
Eight grader Helen Zardus was selected for the
prestigious National Middle School Honor Choir 2017 that recently met and
performed in Minneapolis, MN. She was one of only 350 middle schoolers
from across the nation to receive this honor.
At the 25th Annual York County Science and
Engineering Fair, D.A.M.S. 8th grader, Ibnat Meah won the Junior
Division Grand Champion award as the best project from among all 7th,
8th, and 9th graders across York and Adams
Dallastown Area High School's Mu Alpha Theta Society
held its 3rd annual induction ceremony welcoming 17 seniors and 59 juniors into
the honorary mathematics society. The
new inductees join 37 returning seniors
Senior Ziyue Zhang is a Semi-Finalist in the 2017 National Merit® Scholarship Program
and will continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships.

Annual AP District Honor Roll, a list of 425 districts across the U.S. and
Canada being honored for increasing access to AP®
course work, while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of
students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams.
