I. Welcome and Introductions: Tracie Conklin

      II. Secretary’s Report: Donna Dunkerley

Cathy Grove approved, Tammy Snyder 2nd

     III. Treasurer’s Report: Tammy Snyder

           a. Almost $8,000 was raised with the fall fundraiser.

           b. There are new forms for invoices to make it easier to keep track.  The

forms can be found on the LH website.

Donna Dunkerley approved, Tracie Conklin 2nd

     IV. Principal’s Report: Chip Patterson

           a. Sign up for conferences if you have not.

           b. Make sure you keep itemized receipts. A board member is really

checking into expenses. Remember the PTO is a tax-exempt

organization so use the tax-exempt number to avoid taxes on purchases.

           c. Teachers in K-3 are not to discuss the Penn State situation. The topic is

                being diverted back to parents.

            d. Dallastown Area volunteers do not go through a clearance.

Administrators feel that they have a close relationship with parents, and

it also avoids potential issues with guest speakers and assembly

presenters. Parents are not left alone with children until parents are well

known in the school. However, with the Penn State situation, there may

be some more stringent requirements in the future.

      V. Discussion Items:

             a. Fall Festival was a success. Paper in the future will be more specific

about needing to sign up prior to the event. Teachers were pleased with

the way their classrooms were left.

             b. Clothing/spirit item forms are due Thursday, November 17. Order

should go in by that Monday. Water bottles will be ordered for the

students as a holiday gift from the PTO.

             c. Items that that PTO would like to purchase for the school:

                  i. Easy up tents – still need to purchase two.

ii. Playground equipment was installed. We were billed $850-

substantially less than other quotes. Kids love it.

      VI. Committee Reports:

              a. School Store is busy. May need more volunteers.

              b. Fundraiser:

                   i. Fall fundraiser awards are to be figured out & announced.

ii. York Revolution would like us to do fundraiser. Tickets will be $6

each, with LH PTO getting $3 for every sale.

iii. Five Below suggested that we pick a week and announce to school

that every sale would give us 10%. Maybe we could do it the week

of December 11thto target the holiday season. Tammy Snyder made

the motion, Cathy Grove 2nd. All in favor.

              c. Holiday Shop isDec 10. Breakfast for a buck again, and a blurb will

be put in the intermediate newsletter. Looking for help from 5thgrade

green on Friday, and backward shirt on Monday. Goal is around $3500

                  for total sales.

              f. Hospitality – gift taken care of for Mr. Reever.

              g. Pictures for yearbook are being taken care of by Mrs. Lindt & Mrs.

Beck-Adams. They are overseeing the project, but parents can forward

pictures to school. Maybe homeroom parents can coordinate.

      VII. Miscellaneous discussion items:

a.    Do we want to hold a December meeting? Most voted no, but we can move up the one in January if needed.
