March 13, 2020 Update

Dear Dallastown Families,

I write to inform you that all schools in the Dallastown Area School District, as well as throughout York County, will be closed beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 through Sunday, March 29, 2020 in an effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). All activities and events have been canceled effective midnight tonight (March 13). We recognize that school closures will create challenges for our families and our community, but we also recognize our responsibility to address this public health concern.

The DASD educational plan will be communicated to families on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Also, we will communicate dates for events that are able to be rescheduled as they unfold.

Although school is scheduled to resume on Monday, March 30, we will continue to closely monitor the situation and communicate as needed.

During the closure, all district facilities will undergo extensive cleaning of high touch areas. We encourage you to continue hand washing and following precautions from the CDC to prevent the spread of illness.

As always, we appreciate our community’s support and cooperation. You can assist us by remaining vigilant but sensible in your approach to dealing with this health concern. As you know, we are the greatest influence on our children’s reactions to these types of events. As a result, let’s remain calm, respectful, empathetic, and inclusive while advocating for ourselves and others.

Stay safe and healthy,
Dr. Joshua A. Doll
Superintendent
