Grade Scale Information

Dallastown Area School District uses a number of grade scales and score codes to indicate assignment scores and marking period grades. These will vary according to the type of class, and whether or not the class is for Middle School or High School students.

The following grade scales are currently in use for Middle School classes:

Major Subject Classes

Unified Arts Classes

A = 90% to 100%

O = 85% to 100%

B = 80% to 89%

S = 70% to 84%

C = 70% to 79%

N = 60% to 69%

D = 60% to 69%

U = below 60% *

E = below 60% *

I = incomplete

I = incomplete X = no grade given

X = no grade given

Alternate Classwork Score Entries - Middle School only

ABS = 0% for score (student ABSENT; assignment not received/not excused by teacher)

ANR = 0% for score (student PRESENT; assignment not received/not excused by teacher)

EXC = excluded from average calculation (student excused from assignment)

Blank = excluded from average calculation (assignment not yet processed)
