Fever
To attend school, a child must have a temperature under 100.0 degrees for 24 hours without fever reducing medications such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen.
- Any student with a temperature greater than 100.0 will be excluded from school.
- Students may return to school after remaining fever-free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications.
Gastrointestinal Symptoms (Vomiting/Diarrhea)
Children should stay home if they have diarrhea (3 or more loose or watery bowel movements) or if they are vomiting.
Rash
Children should stay home if they have an oozing or contagious rash.
Respiratory Symptoms
Children should stay home if they have a temperature over 100.0 or they need fever-reducing medication.
Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease
Students may return to school upon recommendation of their health care provider. If they student is not assessed by a health care provider, they may attend school with a rash and no fever.
Mononucleosis
Students may return to school upon recommendation of their health care provider.
