During this week’s DASD Board of Directors Building and Capital Projects Committee Meeting, the final scope of the Secondary West Campus Safety Enhancement Project was approved. The initial concrete structure of Wildcat Stadium was built in 1959, with repairs throughout the past six decades. This project addresses safety considerations and will allow for enhanced infrastructure, accessibility, traffic flow, and an overall modernization of the West Secondary Campus.

In 2017, this project was identified as a future focus and funding was allocated through a bond issuance. As a result, this project, if authorized by the DASD Board of Directors will be completed with no additional increase in taxation to our community.

The DASD Board of Directors will vote during the June 17, 2021 Business Meeting to authorize the seeking of bids for the project. A thorough review of the bids will occur in Fall of 2021 and a final authorization will be considered. If approved, the project will begin in November 2021.
