DAMS NJHS Complete Service Project

DAMS National Junior Honor Society Students Complete Service Project for Susquehanna Service Dogs
Posted on 06/01/2021
Each year, the National Junior Honor Society students need to collect a certain number of service hours, and this year they wanted to support an organization that involved people and animals.

Allison Yeich, NJHS President, suggested supporting Susquehanna Service Dogs (SSD) after seeing the positive effects this organization has as well as their collaboration with veterans.

NJHS students not only created a beautiful garden oasis around the gazebo by the pond at SSD, but they raised enough money to name a puppy who will someday become a service dog.

Through numerous fundraisers at Dallastown Area Middle School, change boxes at local business and a dog toy drive, they raised a total of $2,903.44 for SSD! After completing their service project, they had the opportunity to meet the puppy they would name, SSD Layla.
